{"id":74652,"date":"2025-09-01T05:32:04","date_gmt":"2025-09-01T05:32:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=74652"},"modified":"2025-09-01T05:32:04","modified_gmt":"2025-09-01T05:32:04","slug":"nimet-forecasts-thunderstorms-in-abuja-rains-nationwide","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/09\/01\/nimet-forecasts-thunderstorms-in-abuja-rains-nationwide\/","title":{"rendered":"NiMet Forecasts Thunderstorms in Abuja, Rains Nationwide"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Samuel Adeola<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted thunderstorms and rainfall across the country between Monday and Wednesday, with Abuja and several states expected to be affected.<\/p>\n<p>In its weather outlook released on Sunday, NiMet projected thunderstorms with moderate rainfall later on Monday in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nasarawa, Benue, Niger, and Plateau States.<\/p>\n<p>The agency further forecast thundery and rainy weather in parts of the North on Monday morning, including Kebbi, Zamfara, Sokoto, Gombe, Borno, and Yobe States. By afternoon, thunderstorms are anticipated in Bauchi, Yobe, Jigawa, Kano, Kaduna, Zamfara, Katsina, Adamawa, Taraba, and Borno States.<\/p>\n<p>In the South, cloudy skies are expected in the morning with light rains in Cross River and Akwa Ibom.
