{"id":74537,"date":"2025-08-29T14:07:53","date_gmt":"2025-08-29T14:07:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=74537"},"modified":"2025-08-29T14:07:53","modified_gmt":"2025-08-29T14:07:53","slug":"police-arrest-man-over-alleged-murder-in-ondo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/08\/29\/police-arrest-man-over-alleged-murder-in-ondo\/","title":{"rendered":"Police Arrest Man Over Alleged Murder in Ondo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Sarah Sam Adda<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Ondo State Police Command has arrested one Eze Amadi for allegedly killing a 28-year-old man, Ifeanyi Otu, in Kajola, Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.<\/p>\n<p>Police spokesperson, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the arrest in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>He said investigations were ongoing and assured that the suspect would be charged to court upon completion.<\/p>\n<p>Ayanlade urged residents to remain calm, noting that the law would take its full course.<\/p>\n<p>Residents of Kajola were thrown into mourning on Monday when Otu\u2019s body was discovered inside a water drum.<\/p>\n<p>Witnesses alleged that Amadi tortured the victim to death before attempting to dispose of the body at night.<\/p>\n<p>He was reportedly caught by community members while trying to transport the corpse on a motorcycle.<\/p>\n<p>The victim\u2019s father, Mr. Michael Otu, who lives in the same neighborhood as the suspect, described the incident as devastating.<\/p>\n<p>He said he received a call that his son\u2019s body, wrapped in foam, had been found inside a drum. \u201cJustice must be served in this case,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The motive behind the killing remains unclear, as residents said they were unaware of any prior dispute between the suspect and the victim.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Sarah Sam Adda &nbsp; The Ondo State Police Command has arrested one Eze Amadi for allegedly killing a 28-year-old man, Ifeanyi Otu, in Kajola, Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.
