{"id":74326,"date":"2025-08-27T09:27:23","date_gmt":"2025-08-27T09:27:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=74326"},"modified":"2025-08-27T09:27:23","modified_gmt":"2025-08-27T09:27:23","slug":"jigawa-declares-work-free-day-for-34th-anniversary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/08\/27\/jigawa-declares-work-free-day-for-34th-anniversary\/","title":{"rendered":"Jigawa Declares Work-Free Day for 34th Anniversary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Onilede Titi Faith<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Jigawa State Government has declared Wednesday a public holiday to mark the 34th anniversary of the state\u2019s creation.<\/p>\n<p>Jigawa was carved out of the old Kano State on August 27, 1991, during a nationwide exercise that also produced Yobe, Enugu, Bauchi, and Kogi States.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement signed by the State Head of Service, Muhammad Dagaceri, the government congratulated indigenes on the milestone and urged residents to actively participate in the activities lined up for the celebration.<\/p>\n<p>Dagaceri encouraged citizens to use the occasion to reflect, give thanks to Almighty Allah for the state\u2019s blessings, and pray for the progress of Jigawa and Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that the holiday would allow residents to fully engage in communal prayers and anniversary events without work distractions.<\/p>\n<p>The government further underscored the importance of unity, peaceful coexistence, and sustained development as Jigawa moves into its 35th year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Onilede Titi Faith &nbsp; The Jigawa State Government has declared Wednesday a public holiday to mark the 34th anniversary of the state\u2019s creation.
