{"id":74295,"date":"2025-08-27T06:27:28","date_gmt":"2025-08-27T06:27:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=74295"},"modified":"2025-08-27T06:27:28","modified_gmt":"2025-08-27T06:27:28","slug":"fcta-promotes-49-deputy-directors-after-first-ever-cbt-exam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/08\/27\/fcta-promotes-49-deputy-directors-after-first-ever-cbt-exam\/","title":{"rendered":"FCTA Promotes 49 Deputy Directors After First-Ever CBT Exam"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Samuel Adeola<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), has promoted 49 deputy directors to the rank of director, elevating them from Grade Level 16 to 17.<\/p>\n<p>The promotions followed the release of results from the FCTA\u2019s first-ever Computer-Based Promotion Examination (CBT), held on August 12, 2025, at the National Open University, Duste-Alhaji, Bwari.<\/p>\n<p>The exercise aimed to clear promotion arrears for workers on Grade Level 16 from 2023 to 2025.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications to the FCT Minister, said the newly promoted directors will fill part of 63 vacancies across various departments.<\/p>\n<p>The Education Officer cadre recorded the highest number with 20 promotions, followed by the Accountant cadre with nine. Civil Engineer, Social Welfare, Tourism, Fisheries, and Medical Officer cadres each had one promotion.<\/p>\n<p>Chairman of the FCT Civil Service Commission, Emeka Eze, explained that the Education Officer cadre had 820 candidates competing for 20 slots, while the Admin cadre had 12 officers vying for 10 vacancies.<\/p>\n<p>Minister Nyesom Wike directed that the promotion process be transparent and free from undue influence, prompting the adoption of the CBT model.<\/p>\n<p>The commission\u2019s board of examiners set a minimum pass mark of 60 percent to ensure credibility and facilitate the timely release of results.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Samuel Adeola The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), has promoted 49 deputy directors to the rank of director, elevating them from Grade Level 16 to 17.
