The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has issued a seven-day ultimatum to some Nigerian universities found guilty of violating admission guidelines.<\/p>\n
The affected institutions allegedly failed to upload their matriculation lists to the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS), a mandatory requirement for all legitimate admissions.<\/p>\n
JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, described the action as an \u201caberration,\u201d warning that any student not on the National Matriculation List would be regarded as having received an \u201cillegitimate\u201d admission.<\/p>\n
He cautioned that such lapses could expose schools to lawsuits from affected candidates and attract sanctions from the board.<\/p>\n
While most of the institutions involved have apologized and agreed to submit formal letters alongside the outstanding matriculation lists within the stipulated deadline, JAMB expressed concern that Olusegun Agagu University and Wellspring University failed to honor its invitation; a move that could attract tougher disciplinary measures.<\/p>\n
Oloyede, however, noted that the board would \u201ctemper justice with mercy\u201d to avoid jeopardizing students\u2019 academic futures.<\/p>\n
