{"id":74093,"date":"2025-08-25T06:39:26","date_gmt":"2025-08-25T06:39:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=74093"},"modified":"2025-08-25T06:39:26","modified_gmt":"2025-08-25T06:39:26","slug":"nlc-rejects-politicians-salary-hike-calls-move-unjust","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/08\/25\/nlc-rejects-politicians-salary-hike-calls-move-unjust\/","title":{"rendered":"NLC Rejects Politicians\u2019 Salary Hike, Calls Move Unjust"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Omoniyi David<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has strongly opposed plans by the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), to increase the salaries of political office holders, describing the move as \u201cinsensitive, unjust, and inequitable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>NLC President, Joe Ajaero, in a statement on Sunday, warned that the review would further widen inequality between politicians and workers while worsening poverty across the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are outraged by the decision of RMAFC to embark on an upward review of political office holders\u2019 pay.
