I felt in my spirit that there is nothing to put your life for. That\u2019s why I said I have to step back so that I won\u2019t implode. It\u2019s grieving,\u201d West lamented.<\/p>\n<p>He recalled similar neglect of other late icons, including Stephen Keshi, Rashidi Yekini, and Thompson Oliha, stressing that such treatment discouraged him from advising his own children to serve the nation through football.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith this kind of example, I will never advise even my son to play for this country.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Do we have a Football Federation or a Football Association that treats heroes this way?\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n<p>West also expressed shock that Rufai\u2019s family had to solicit funds for the burial.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCould you imagine that the family was crying and begging for money?
