{"id":73794,"date":"2025-08-21T05:35:15","date_gmt":"2025-08-21T05:35:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=73794"},"modified":"2025-08-21T05:35:15","modified_gmt":"2025-08-21T05:35:15","slug":"fg-denies-excluding-north-west-from-dialysis-subsidy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/08\/21\/fg-denies-excluding-north-west-from-dialysis-subsidy\/","title":{"rendered":"FG Denies Excluding North-West from Dialysis Subsidy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Samuel Adeola<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Federal Government has dismissed claims that the North-West was excluded from its kidney dialysis subsidy programme.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, President Bola Tinubu approved a subsidy reducing the cost of dialysis from N50,000 to N12,000 in selected federal hospitals.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement on Wednesday, Alaba Balogun, Deputy Director and Head of Information at the Ministry of Health, described reports of exclusion as \u201cincorrect.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the pilot scheme is already running in 11 federal tertiary hospitals across all zones, including the North-West.<\/p>\n<p>The hospitals are Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, University of Jos Teaching Hospital, National Hospital Abuja, FMC Ebute Metta, UCH Ibadan, UBTH, FMC Yenagoa, Federal Teaching Hospital Owerri, and FMC Abakaliki.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe ministry emphasises that the North-West is not excluded.
