By Onilede Titi Faith<\/strong><\/p>\n The Ogun State High Court in Sagamu has restrained Governor Dapo Abiodun and top officials from demolishing or interfering with the private properties of former Governor and serving Senator, Gbenga Daniel, and his wife, Olufunke.<\/p>\n Justice O.S. Oloyede granted the interim order on urgent applications filed by the couple\u2019s counsel, A.M. Kotoye, SAN.<\/p>\n The ruling bars the state from executing quit notices issued earlier this month or engaging in any demolition or trespass.<\/p>\n The affected properties include Asoludero Court, Daniel\u2019s residence at Block 1, Plots 7 & 8, and Block XXXVIII, Plots 1 & 12, Ile Awolowo Avenue, Sagamu GRA; another residence owned by Mrs. Daniel within the same GRA; and the Conference Hotel with its annex in Sagamu.<\/p>\n The government had claimed the buildings violated the Ogun State Urban and Regional Planning and Development Law No. 61 of 2022, giving owners three days to vacate or prove compliance.<\/p>\n However, Daniel\u2019s lawyers argued the structures, built in 2004, 2013, and 2015, predate the law and have valid Certificates of Occupancy.<\/p>\n Justice Oloyede said the order was necessary to prevent irreparable harm while the substantive suit is determined.<\/p>\n All parties were directed to maintain the status quo as of August 8, 2025, when the quit notices were served.<\/p>\n The matter was adjourned to August 19, 2025, for hearing on the substantive motion for injunction.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" By Onilede Titi Faith The Ogun State High Court in Sagamu has restrained Governor Dapo Abiodun and top officials from demolishing or interfering with the private properties of former Governor and serving Senator, Gbenga Daniel, and his wife, Olufunke.
