{"id":72564,"date":"2025-08-08T11:11:04","date_gmt":"2025-08-08T11:11:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=72564"},"modified":"2025-08-08T11:11:04","modified_gmt":"2025-08-08T11:11:04","slug":"inec-set-to-resume-voter-registration-in-811-centres-nationwide","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/08\/08\/inec-set-to-resume-voter-registration-in-811-centres-nationwide\/","title":{"rendered":"INEC Set To\u00a0 Resume Voter Registration In 811 Centres Nationwide"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Omoniyi David<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says its Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) will take place in 811 centres across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.<\/p>\n<p>INEC National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Sam Olumekun, made this known in Abuja after the commission\u2019s regular meeting.<\/p>\n<p>He said the exercise will start with online pre-registration on August 18, while in-person registration will begin on August 25. Both will run together for one year, ending on August 30, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the registration will hold Mondays to Fridays from 9 am to 3 pm in all 774 LGAs, state offices, and the FCT, excluding public holidays.<\/p>\n<p>To make the process easier, INEC will launch an online CVR Live Locator on August 17 to help citizens find their registration centres. The locator can be accessed at https:\/\/cvr.inecnigeria.org\/locator.<\/p>\n<p>A 38-page list of all 811 centres has been uploaded to INEC\u2019s website, alongside dedicated phone numbers for each state to serve as help desks. Olumekun said the registration procedure remains the same as in 2022, with detailed guidelines and videos to be released next week.<\/p>\n<p>On political party registration, Olumekun revealed that INEC had received eight new letters of intent from groups seeking to register as parties, bringing the total so far to 151.
