The incident happened at approximately 9:21 p.m. opposite the Niger Barracks.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>According to Nkechi Isa, Head of Public Affairs at the Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Department (FEMD), the agency received reports of the accident and promptly dispatched rescue teams to the scene.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The FEMD, along with the FCT Fire Service, the Nigerian Army, and the FCT Police Command, worked together to rescue two people trapped in the burning bus. The rescue operation lasted until about 1:30 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>The driver of the bus suffered severe burns and was fatally injured in the accident. His remains were handed over to his family for burial after the rescue operation. The second occupant, who survived the crash, was taken to Asokoro General Hospital for treatment but was later discharged at the request of his family.<\/p>\n<p>The Acting Director General of FEMD, Abdulrahman Mohammed, has urged motorists to exercise caution on the road and ensure that their vehicles are in good working condition.
