They also called on the National Assembly to investigate the matter.<\/p>\n<p>Led by prominent activists Declan Ihekaire and Shina Loremikan, the protest attracted a large crowd. Demonstrators carried placards with messages such as \u201cFrom glory to gory\u201d and \u201cJustice for property owners,\u201d demanding government accountability.<\/p>\n<p>The group alleged that the Ministry of Works defied a court order halting the project and demolished properties with valid Certificates of Occupancy without compensation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are here to demand justice for Nigerians whose properties were demolished without compensation,\u201d said Ihekaire. \u201cThe government cannot continue to disregard the rule of law.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He warned that such actions were damaging trust among Nigerians abroad and discouraging future investments. \u201cHow do you convince Nigerians overseas to invest in their homeland if their properties are destroyed without redress? This is a case of giving and taking away.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The protesters also condemned the Ministry\u2019s alleged disregard for judicial authority. \u201cMinisters and parastatals disobeying court orders? That\u2019s a direct path to anarchy,\u201d Ihekaire added.<\/p>\n<p>Shina Loremikan questioned the government\u2019s priorities, stating, \u201cIf millions can be paid to the Super Falcons, then surely citizens whose properties were demolished deserve compensation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The activists vowed to sustain the protest until their demands are met. \u201cWe will not relent.
