{"id":72312,"date":"2025-08-06T19:23:58","date_gmt":"2025-08-06T19:23:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=72312"},"modified":"2025-08-06T19:23:58","modified_gmt":"2025-08-06T19:23:58","slug":"72312","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/08\/06\/72312\/","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Anifowoshe Oladipupo<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late Dr. Doyinsola Abiola, describing her as a trailblazer in Nigerian journalism and a fearless advocate for democracy.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement issued on her passing, Tinubu hailed Abiola as a pioneering figure who shattered gender barriers, becoming the first woman to edit a national newspaper and the first female Managing Director of a daily in Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDoyin Abiola was an Amazon and an icon in Nigerian journalism,\u201d the President said, commending her lifelong dedication to the public good and democratic values.<\/p>\n<p>He particularly praised her courage during the June 12, 1993 election crisis.
