{"id":72069,"date":"2025-08-05T08:21:52","date_gmt":"2025-08-05T08:21:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=72069"},"modified":"2025-08-05T08:21:52","modified_gmt":"2025-08-05T08:21:52","slug":"court-orders-forfeiture-of-property-linked-to-n986m-diesel-fraud","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/08\/05\/court-orders-forfeiture-of-property-linked-to-n986m-diesel-fraud\/","title":{"rendered":"Court Orders Forfeiture of Property Linked to N986m Diesel Fraud"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Omoniyi David<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, has ordered the interim forfeiture of a property linked to an alleged N986 million diesel fraud.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Dehinde Dipeolu granted the order following an ex parte application by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.<\/p>\n<p>The EFCC said the move is to preserve the property at No. 29 Oyindamola Shogbesan Street, Park View Estate, Ago Palace Way, pending the outcome of a final forfeiture hearing.<\/p>\n<p>According to court documents, the house was allegedly acquired with proceeds from a diesel supply scam involving Hannah Ify Nwaguzor, Ajayi Edward Olushola, and others.<\/p>\n<p>The EFCC said the suspects defrauded Prince Chukwulota Benneth Onuoha and two firms-G3 Solid Farms and Bohr Energy, under the pretext of supplying Automotive Gas Oil worth N986 million.<\/p>\n<p>Bohr Energy reportedly transferred the funds to Mozann Global Merchants in May 2024, but no product was delivered.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators traced N500 million to Hola Jayu Nigeria Limited, which allegedly paid N261 million to Orobosa Michael Ubogu for the purchase of the seized property.<\/p>\n<p>The EFCC argued that the funds used to buy the house were proceeds of unlawful activity.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Dipeolu directed the commission to publish the interim forfeiture order in a national newspaper, allowing anyone with interest 14 days to contest the action.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Omoniyi David A Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, has ordered the interim forfeiture of a property linked to an alleged N986 million diesel fraud.
