{"id":72066,"date":"2025-08-05T08:17:52","date_gmt":"2025-08-05T08:17:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=72066"},"modified":"2025-08-05T08:17:52","modified_gmt":"2025-08-05T08:17:52","slug":"fct-police-uncover-fake-kidnap-plot-by-sisters-to-extort-father","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/08\/05\/fct-police-uncover-fake-kidnap-plot-by-sisters-to-extort-father\/","title":{"rendered":"FCT Police Uncover Fake Kidnap Plot by Sisters to Extort Father"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Samuel Adeola<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The FCT Police Command has arrested four people, including two sisters, for faking a kidnapping to extort N5 million from their father.<\/p>\n<p>Police spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh said Mr. Innocent of Jikwoyi Phase II reported that his 16-year-old daughter, Lead Way Innocent, went missing on July 18 after leaving for an exam at Government Secondary School, Karu.<\/p>\n<p>He later received a ransom call demanding N5 million.<\/p>\n<p>Acting on intelligence and digital tracking, police traced the number to a house in Jikwoyi Phase II.<\/p>\n<p>Officers raided the location and found Lead Way relaxing with Mrs. Tina Mayowa, showing no signs of distress.<\/p>\n<p>Further investigation led to the arrest of Lead Way\u2019s elder sister, Joy Innocent, and her boyfriend, Mayowa Adedeji, who is married to Mrs. Tina.<\/p>\n<p>Police said Joy and Mayowa conspired to stage the fake abduction, with Lead Way willingly participating.<\/p>\n<p>FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Ajao Adewale, described the case as a \u201cbetrayal within the family\u201d and urged parents to pay attention to their children&#8217;s emotional health.<\/p>\n<p>All four suspects confessed and will be charged after investigations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Samuel Adeola The FCT Police Command has arrested four people, including two sisters, for faking a kidnapping to extort N5 million from their father.
