{"id":71924,"date":"2025-08-04T04:49:14","date_gmt":"2025-08-04T04:49:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=71924"},"modified":"2025-08-04T04:49:14","modified_gmt":"2025-08-04T04:49:14","slug":"ndlea-arrests-dispatch-riders-seizes-illicit-drugs-in-abuja-lagos-others","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/08\/04\/ndlea-arrests-dispatch-riders-seizes-illicit-drugs-in-abuja-lagos-others\/","title":{"rendered":"NDLEA Arrests Dispatch Riders, Seizes Illicit Drugs in Abuja, Lagos, others"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Samuel Adeola<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has arrested eight suspects across multiple states for trafficking illicit substances, including dispatch riders caught with drugs in the Federal Capital Territory.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement on Sunday, NDLEA spokesman Femi Babafemi disclosed that three dispatch riders; Sabo Sule (24), Samuel Nnamdi (28), and Idris Jibrin (28), were apprehended on July 30 during stop-and-search operations in Gwarimpa, Jahi, and Galadimawa, Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>The trio were found with 149.8 grams of Canadian Loud, a potent strain of cannabis.<\/p>\n<p>Babafemi also revealed that two more suspects, Aliyu Abubakar (25) and Adekunle Agbabiaka (30), were arrested on Saturday, August 2, along the Abaji-Gwagwalada Expressway with 91.1 kilograms of skunk.<\/p>\n<p>In Lagos, Joseph Michael was arrested in Mushin with 3.3 kilograms of Colorado, a synthetic form of cannabis, while Ibrahim Sulaiman was nabbed in the Iwaya area of Yaba with 16.5 litres of skuchies, a cocktail of illicit substances.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, NDLEA operatives intercepted 100,000 tramadol capsules from Hussein Yusuf (37) at a checkpoint along the Vandeikya-Ogoja Road in Benue State on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>In Edo State, a warehouse raid in Ekpoma led to the arrest of William Alabi (44) and the seizure of 233.5 kilograms of skunk.<\/p>\n<p>Babafemi said the agency\u2019s War Against Drug Abuse (WADA), campaign is ongoing nationwide.
