{"id":71854,"date":"2025-08-01T11:05:51","date_gmt":"2025-08-01T11:05:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=71854"},"modified":"2025-08-01T11:05:51","modified_gmt":"2025-08-01T11:05:51","slug":"lasu-staff-unions-declare-indefinite-strike","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/08\/01\/lasu-staff-unions-declare-indefinite-strike\/","title":{"rendered":"LASU Staff Unions Declare Indefinite Strike"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Huldah Shado<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Staff unions at Lagos State University (LASU) have declared an indefinite strike, disrupting all academic and administrative activities across the institution and its affiliate campuses.<\/p>\n<p>In a letter dated July 31, 2025, and addressed to Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, the Joint Action Committee\u2014which includes ASUU, SSANU, NASU, and NAAT\u2014ordered all staff to vacate duty posts effective immediately.<\/p>\n<p>The strike affects the Lagos State University College of Medicine in Ikeja and the LASU Epe campus. The timing is especially disruptive, as students were scheduled to begin second-semester exams on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The letter, signed by union leaders including ASUU-LASU Chairman Prof. Ibrahim A.
