On Thursday, Nigerian military forces carried out coordinated operations across multiple regions, resulting in the elimination of numerous terrorists, the capture of 15 suspects, and the seizure of weapons and military gear, according to reliable sources within Army Headquarters.<\/p>\n

The ongoing nationwide campaign, part of the military\u2019s renewed offensive against insurgent groups and criminal elements, has seen sustained momentum. In Borno State, troops from the 151 Task Force Battalion ambushed terrorists in the Sabsawa area of Bama Local Government Area, killing one militant and recovering an AK-47 rifle loaded with 28 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in Gwoza LGA, along the Pulka\u2013Ngoshe axis, soldiers from the 192 Battalion neutralised another terrorist and retrieved a similar assault rifle. Tracks of blood discovered along the route suggest additional insurgent casualties not immediately confirmed.<\/p>\n

In a related development, five individuals\u2014two women and three children believed to be family members of ISWAP\/JAS fighters\u2014surrendered to security forces at Banki Junction after fleeing their community in Bula Daloye.<\/p>\n

Troops of the 50 Task Force Battalion and 134 Special Forces Battalion further recovered two artillery shells during a tactical ambush on the Marte\u2013Dikwa road in Dikwa LGA.<\/p>\n

Operations were also extended beyond the North-East. In Lagos State, operatives from the 9 Brigade arrested 12 individuals posing as military personnel at Ojota. These impostors were reportedly part of a fake corps and had been donning military uniforms.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, in Abuja, one individual dressed in woodland camouflage was apprehended by personnel attached to Operation SWEEP in the Waru area of the Abuja Municipal Council.<\/p>\n

In the South-East, troops from the 145 Battalion arrested two suspected cult members in Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia State. The operation yielded two homemade pistols, six cartridges, and various other items.<\/p>\n

Also in the South-South region, the 343 Artillery Regiment intercepted two wooden boats carrying an estimated 400 litres of illegally refined condensate in the Onelga area of Rivers State. The suspects, however, managed to escape upon spotting the soldiers.<\/p>\n

The Army reaffirmed its commitment to eliminating security threats and restoring stability across Nigeria, emphasizing that these operations are part of a broader mission to secure the nation and protect its citizens.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
