He assured that efforts were on to resolve the issue and that salaries would be paid \u201cby Monday or Tuesday,\u201d stressing that the delay was not intentional.<\/p>\n<p>Last Thursday, the FCT chapter of the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), led by Comrade Abdullahi Ibrahim Kabi, ordered the closure of the council secretariat and all health centres over the arrears. The union accused the council of neglecting the welfare of its members and vowed not to reopen the facilities until workers are paid.<\/p>\n<p>Giri appealed to the union to exercise patience, noting that the council was committed to clearing the arrears once the court order is lifted. He added that talks were ongoing with the contractor to find a resolution that would allow normal operations to resume without further disruption.<\/p>\n<p>Residents of the area have lamented the closure, saying it has left them stranded without access to basic health services.
