Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike<\/b>, on Thursday hosted two governors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja, following a separate meeting with a factional leader of the Labour Party (LP) earlier the same day.<\/p>\n
The governors who visited Wike at his Abuja residence are <\/span>Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State<\/span><\/b> and <\/span>Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State<\/span><\/b>.<\/span> Both Governors Oborevwori and Nwifuru are confirmed members of the APC. The visit was made public by Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, who shared a photo of the meeting on Facebook, captioning it: \u201cDelta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, and his Ebonyi State counterpart, Francis Nwifuru, during their visit to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, in Abuja a few minutes ago.\u201d<\/p>\n This meeting with the APC governors in the early hours of Thursday, July 24, 2025, closely followed Wike’s engagement with Julius Abure<\/b>, the factional National Chairman of the Labour Party. Abure had characterized his visit as private, asserting his right to meet with any public office holder.<\/span> The Abure-led faction of the Labour Party recently held a National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Abuja, where they ruled out any coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections, despite ongoing internal party disputes.<\/span><\/p>\n The series of high-profile political visits to the FCT Minister’s residence continues to underscore Wike’s significant influence and political maneuvering across party lines, even after his appointment as FCT Minister.
