He hinted at the possibility of more projects if the current one is properly maintained.

“We’re watching how they manage this borehole. If they do well, we’ll come back and possibly drill another,” he added.

Also speaking at the event, Pastor Kayode Aliyu of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement in Gwarinpa, highlighted the spiritual symbolism of the gesture, referencing Exodus 15:27, where the Israelites found rest and water in Elim.

The Chairperson of the Church’s Anniversary Committee, Mrs Margaret Ohenhen said the initiative stemmed from a need the church discovered during an outreach visit.

“We saw people lining up at a lone tap, struggling to fetch water. That image stayed with us, and we knew we had to help,” she said.

The Chief of Paze Community, Saidu Ibrahim, expressed deep appreciation to the church and called on the government to follow suit with additional infrastructure projects.

“We’re grateful to the church. But we still need roads, electricity, and schools,” he said.

Mrs Chioma Mba, the Women Leader in the community, described the impact as life-changing, especially for women.

“Pregnant women used to walk to the stream with buckets on their heads. This borehole is a miracle. It gives us hope,” she said.

The project was received with joy by residents, who said it marked a turning point in their daily lives.

By Ade Iyamoye The Peculiar People’s Centre for Deliverance Through Evangelism, a branch of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church in Kubwa, Abuja, has donated a solar-powered borehole to the Paze Community in Byazhin Across, as part of its ongoing community development efforts.
