The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), has revealed that the country\u2019s broadband penetration reached 48.81 percent as of June 2025, with tele-density standing at 79.65 percent.<\/p>\n
Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC, Dr. Aminu Maida, announced the figures during a mid-year industry performance briefing in Abuja.<\/p>\n
He noted that active voice subscriptions now stand at about 219 million, while broadband subscriptions have surpassed 97 million.<\/p>\n
Maida attributed the growth to increased investments, regulatory interventions, and efforts to bridge connectivity gaps in rural and underserved areas.<\/p>\n
Reaffirming the Commission\u2019s target of 70 percent broadband penetration by 2027, Maida said the NCC remains committed to reducing data costs, improving service quality, and enhancing digital inclusion.<\/p>\n
He urged stakeholders to sustain collaboration in expanding telecom infrastructure, stressing that affordable and reliable connectivity is vital to Nigeria\u2019s economic growth.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
