Former NBA star Paul Pierce has sparked outrage following controversial remarks on his podcast, The Truth After Dark, where he urged Black men to seek relationships outside the United States, claiming foreign women have better values and show more respect.<\/p>\n
Pierce said American women, especially Black women, prioritize money and social media attention over genuine connection.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn America, if you\u2019re broke, you ain\u2019t getting no love,\u201d he said. \u201cYou gotta take them shopping, buy them something.\u201d<\/p>\n
He contrasted this with women abroad, saying, \u201cOverseas, you can show up with a couple hundred dollars, and they treat you like a king.\u201d Citing rapper French Montana\u2019s alleged relationship with a Dubai woman, he added, \u201cThat\u2019s what Black men need to be doing. These women overseas appreciate you. They ain\u2019t on Instagram shaking for likes.\u201d<\/p>\n
Pierce also argued that online attention has made many American women too distracted for serious relationships. \u201cYou can\u2019t compete with the internet,\u201d he said. \u201cThese women are getting compliments all day from a hundred dudes.\u201d<\/p>\n
His co-host, Azar, pushed back, saying, \u201cNot every woman is doing that. Not me. I don\u2019t need a man to take me shopping to show love.\u201d<\/p>\n
She also criticized what she described as a tone of sex tourism in Pierce\u2019s comments. \u201cSome women will sleep with you for $25 in other countries. Over here, the price is up. That\u2019s the only difference.\u201d<\/p>\n
Despite the pushback, Pierce insisted that dating abroad offers more authentic relationships.<\/p>\n
