{"id":70667,"date":"2025-07-15T18:26:19","date_gmt":"2025-07-15T18:26:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=70667"},"modified":"2025-07-15T18:26:19","modified_gmt":"2025-07-15T18:26:19","slug":"nnpc-signs-3-5bn-gas-deal-with-akwa-ibom-gacn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/07\/15\/nnpc-signs-3-5bn-gas-deal-with-akwa-ibom-gacn\/","title":{"rendered":"NNPC Signs $3.5bn Gas Deal With Akwa Ibom, GACN"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Samuel Adeola<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC), Limited has signed a $3.5 billion Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), with the Akwa Ibom State Government and the Gas Aggregation Company of Nigeria (GACN), to drive gas-based industrial development in the South-South region.<\/p>\n<p>The deal was formalized during the opening of the 2025 South-South Gas Utilisation Forum held in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.<\/p>\n<p>NNPC said the agreement reflects the region\u2019s strong commitment to leveraging its gas resources for industrial growth and economic advancement.<\/p>\n<p>Present at the forum were the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo, and representatives from the governors of Akwa Ibom, Cross River, and Rivers states.<\/p>\n<p>NNPC\u2019s delegation was led by Udy Ntia, Executive Vice President, Upstream and Chairman of GACN\u2019s Board, along with Olalekan Ogunleye, Executive Vice President, Gas, Power and New Energy.
