Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu\u2019s administration of worsening economic hardship and betraying Nigerian workers.<\/p>\n
In a post on his official X handle, Atiku said Tinubu\u2019s \u201chasty\u201d fuel subsidy removal triggered \u201can economic avalanche,\u201d burying Nigerians under inflation, hunger, and despair.<\/p>\n
He criticized the federal government\u2019s failure to fully pay wage award arrears promised to civil servants pending a new national minimum wage.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt \u20a635,000 monthly, the Federal Government still owes four months; that\u2019s \u20a6140,000 per worker,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n
Describing the administration as \u201ccallous\u201d and \u201cindifferent,\u201d Atiku praised state governments that have managed labour issues better.<\/p>\n
He also condemned the arrest of labour activist Andrew Uche Emelieze, calling for his immediate release.<\/p>\n
\u201cHis only crime was speaking up for workers. Nigerian workers will not be silenced or forgotten,\u201d Atiku declared.<\/p>\n
