Olakunle Nafiu, described the development as detrimental to the scheme\u2019s core objective of providing young graduates with practical work experience.<\/p>\n<p>Nafiu lamented that some employers either fail to request corps members or reject them upon arrival, depriving them of opportunities to contribute meaningfully and gain essential skills.<\/p>\n<p>He also criticized the poor welfare and, in some cases, inhumane treatment meted out to corps members by certain organizations.<\/p>\n<p>He urged employers to create conducive work environments that support the growth, well-being, and productivity of corps members.<\/p>\n<p>Also speaking at the event, Plateau State NYSC Coordinator, Jonathan Yavala, emphasized the importance of collaboration between the NYSC and employers.<\/p>\n<p>He described employers as not just supervisors but mentors and partners in national development.<\/p>\n<p>Declaring the event open, Plateau State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Musa Ashoms, called for more inclusive and supportive workspaces where corps members can thrive and impact their host communities positively.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Huldah Shado The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has raised concern over the increasing trend of corps members being rejected by employers to whom they are posted.
