{"id":70003,"date":"2025-07-08T14:42:13","date_gmt":"2025-07-08T14:42:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=70003"},"modified":"2025-07-08T14:42:13","modified_gmt":"2025-07-08T14:42:13","slug":"two-dead-nine-injured-in-lagos-abeokuta-expressway-crash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/07\/08\/two-dead-nine-injured-in-lagos-abeokuta-expressway-crash\/","title":{"rendered":"Two Dead, Nine Injured in Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway Crash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Patrick Idowu<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Two people were killed and nine others injured in a road accident involving a truck, a bus, and a tricycle at Tipper Garage on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Adekunle Ajibade, South-West Area Commander of the Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), confirmed the incident, which occurred around 7:40 p.m. on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The crash involved a Daf truck (JJJ 144 XD), a Mazda bus (EPE 394 XP), and a tricycle (DGB 599 VC).<\/p>\n<p>Ajibade said the parked truck, left running on a slope with the handbrake engaged, rolled back onto the expressway after the brake disengaged, leading to the collision.<\/p>\n<p>The two deceased and nine injured victims were taken to Ifo General Hospital, Ogun State.
