{"id":69743,"date":"2025-07-05T06:21:01","date_gmt":"2025-07-05T06:21:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=69743"},"modified":"2025-07-05T06:21:01","modified_gmt":"2025-07-05T06:21:01","slug":"amaechis-wife-benefited-from-n48bn-nddc-scam-wike-alleges-calls-for-audit-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/07\/05\/amaechis-wife-benefited-from-n48bn-nddc-scam-wike-alleges-calls-for-audit-report\/","title":{"rendered":"Amaechi\u2019s Wife Benefited from N48bn NDDC Scam, Wike Alleges, calls for Audit Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Patrick Idowu<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Minister, Nyesom Wike, has called on President Bola Tinubu to release the forensic audit report of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), alleging that Judith Amaechi, wife of former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, received N48 billion under the guise of training women in the Niger Delta.<\/p>\n<p>Wike made the allegation on Friday night during an interview on Channels Television\u2019s Politics Today, claiming that Judith Amaechi\u2019s company was paid N4 billion monthly for one year by the NDDC.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI call on Mr. President to release the forensic audit report of the NDDC. Amaechi\u2019s wife\u2019s company received N4 billion every month for one year; that\u2019s N48 billion, supposedly to train Niger Delta women. The audit report confirms this,\u201d Wike said.<\/p>\n<p>He further accused former Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, of suppressing the audit report to protect those implicated in the alleged scandal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was Malami who buried the document to shield those involved,\u201d Wike claimed.<\/p>\n<p>The minister went on to declare that he would resign as FCT Minister if his claims were not backed by the forensic report.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf what I\u2019m saying is not in that report, I will resign as Minister.
