{"id":69722,"date":"2025-07-04T14:50:54","date_gmt":"2025-07-04T14:50:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=69722"},"modified":"2025-07-04T14:50:54","modified_gmt":"2025-07-04T14:50:54","slug":"shettima-were-rebuilding-trust-not-just-roads-in-fct","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/07\/04\/shettima-were-rebuilding-trust-not-just-roads-in-fct\/","title":{"rendered":"Shettima: We&#8217;re Rebuilding Trust, Not Just Roads in FCT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Anifowoshe Oladipupo<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Vice President Kashim Shettima says the Tinubu administration is focused not only on delivering infrastructure but also on restoring public trust in governance.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking Friday at the commissioning of the newly rehabilitated Aguma Palace-Radio Nigeria, New Market Road in Gwagwalada, FCT, Shettima, who represented President Bola Tinubu, said the era of unfulfilled promises is over.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re not just constructing roads; we\u2019re rebuilding faith in governance,\u201d he declared. \u201cNo community is too remote to be seen, and no voice too pained to be unheard.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Shettima described the road as a \u201ccorridor of dignity\u201d for market women, schoolchildren, and traders.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasized that the project was a response to grassroots demands, not a top-down directive.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is the democracy we champion, one that listens, responds, and delivers,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>He highlighted ongoing reforms in the FCT aimed at expanding its revenue base and improving schools, hospitals, and infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>The Vice President also praised FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for his results-driven approach.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe has shown that disruption can be a force for genuine progress,\u201d Shettima said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Anifowoshe Oladipupo Vice President Kashim Shettima says the Tinubu administration is focused not only on delivering infrastructure but also on restoring public trust in governance.
