{"id":69351,"date":"2025-06-30T11:50:02","date_gmt":"2025-06-30T11:50:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=69351"},"modified":"2025-06-30T11:50:02","modified_gmt":"2025-06-30T11:50:02","slug":"fg-seeks-dialogue-in-fct-teachers-pay-dispute","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/06\/30\/fg-seeks-dialogue-in-fct-teachers-pay-dispute\/","title":{"rendered":"FG Seeks Dialogue in FCT Teachers\u2019 Pay Dispute"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Adenike Lawal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Federal Ministry of Education has called for calm and dialogue over the ongoing dispute surrounding the implementation of the new national minimum wage for primary school teachers in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).<\/p>\n<p>Reacting to a communiqu\u00e9 issued by the FCT chapter of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), after an emergency meeting in Gwagwalada on March 22, 2025, Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, acknowledged the union\u2019s concerns and reaffirmed the federal government\u2019s appreciation of teachers\u2019 critical role.<\/p>\n<p>While noting that primary schools in the FCT are administered by the six Area Councils, the Minister stressed the government\u2019s commitment to teachers\u2019 welfare and professional growth nationwide.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Alausa, in collaboration with FCT Minister Barr.
