Lawal Zaria and Retired ASP Danlami Maigamo, described the protest as the \u201cMother of All Peaceful Protests,\u201d aimed at pressing home their longstanding grievances.<\/p>\n<p>The officers argue that the CPS has failed to address their welfare needs, citing years of neglect and dissatisfaction.<\/p>\n<p>Their renewed action follows a recent meeting in Kaduna and builds on past protests, including one held at the National Assembly earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>They also criticized the lack of response to the public hearing on November 19, 2024, regarding the proposed Police Pension Board, calling the silence from lawmakers \u201cdisheartening.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The union insists that a separate pension structure for the police is long overdue and vowed to continue peaceful advocacy until their demands are met.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Adenike Lawal &nbsp; Retired police officers under the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS), have announced plans to hold a nationwide peaceful protest on July 21, 2025, demanding their removal from the scheme.
