{"id":69094,"date":"2025-06-26T10:17:21","date_gmt":"2025-06-26T10:17:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=69094"},"modified":"2025-06-26T10:17:21","modified_gmt":"2025-06-26T10:17:21","slug":"stealing-abuja-dispatch-rider-to-clean-court-for-four-days","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/06\/26\/stealing-abuja-dispatch-rider-to-clean-court-for-four-days\/","title":{"rendered":"Stealing: Abuja Dispatch Rider to Clean Court for Four Days"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Patrick Idowu<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A Chief Magistrate\u2019s Court sitting in Wuse, Abuja, and presided over by Magistrate Ekpeyong Inyang, has sentenced a 23-year-old man, Victor Daniel, to four days of community service for stealing.<\/p>\n<p>Magistrate Inyang ordered that Daniel clean the court premises for three hours each day over the four-day period.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the convict is to pay N750,000 in compensation to the complainant, Mr. Christian Maneke.<\/p>\n<p>The magistrate ruled that if Daniel fails to pay the compensation, he will serve seven months in a correctional centre.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel was charged with conspiracy and theft. He pleaded guilty to the charges and begged the court for leniency.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the prosecutor, Donatus Abah, informed the court that the matter was reported at the FCT Police Command on March 26.<\/p>\n<p>Abah explained that Daniel was employed in March by Swifta Logistics Express Services Limited as a dispatch rider and was entrusted with an Avatar motorcycle for official duties.<\/p>\n<p>However, Daniel allegedly conspired with one Timothy Jerry and sold the motorcycle for N400,000.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Patrick Idowu &nbsp; A Chief Magistrate\u2019s Court sitting in Wuse, Abuja, and presided over by Magistrate Ekpeyong Inyang, has sentenced a 23-year-old man, Victor Daniel, to four days of community service for stealing.
