Nigeria\u2019s male and female flag football teams have made history by winning both titles at the inaugural African Flag Football Championships held in Cairo, Egypt.<\/p>\n
The tournament, which ran from June 20 to 21, saw Nigeria\u2019s men edge hosts Egypt 13-12 in a nail-biting final at Club One Stadium, Maadi, before a spirited crowd that included Egypt\u2019s Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi.<\/p>\n
In the women\u2019s final, Nigeria delivered a dominant performance, defeating Morocco 26-12 to secure the gold medal.<\/p>\n
With these victories, both teams earned direct qualification for the 2026 IFAF Flag Football World Championships.<\/p>\n
