{"id":68718,"date":"2025-06-22T04:29:15","date_gmt":"2025-06-22T04:29:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=68718"},"modified":"2025-06-22T04:29:15","modified_gmt":"2025-06-22T04:29:15","slug":"tinubu-commends-wikes-leadership-as-new-abuja-road-opens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/06\/22\/tinubu-commends-wikes-leadership-as-new-abuja-road-opens\/","title":{"rendered":"Tinubu Commends Wike\u2019s Leadership as New Abuja Road Opens"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Oso Abidemi\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>President Bola Tinubu has applauded the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Minister, Nyesom Wike, for the swift completion of the Arterial Road N5 project in Abuja, describing it as a product of fast-thinking and purposeful leadership.<\/p>\n<p>Represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, Tinubu made the commendation on Friday at the official inauguration of the road, which links Life Camp Junction to Ring Road 3.<\/p>\n<p>The road has been named in honour of the late nationalist, Chief Obafemi Awolowo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis project reflects what is possible when vision meets execution,\u201d Tinubu said. \u201cIt improves traffic flow, connects key districts, and enhances the lives of Abuja residents. It is a road for all Nigerians.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He praised the FCT Administration, residents, and other stakeholders for their collaboration, which ensured timely delivery of the road.<\/p>\n<p>FCT Minister Wike, in his remarks, emphasized that the project was executed in phases, with Phase 3 now completed and Phase 2 scheduled for commissioning before the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p>He revealed that compensation was paid to all affected property owners; indigenous or not.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome said non-indigenes shouldn\u2019t be compensated. I disagreed.
