{"id":68565,"date":"2025-06-19T14:12:39","date_gmt":"2025-06-19T14:12:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=68565"},"modified":"2025-06-19T14:12:39","modified_gmt":"2025-06-19T14:12:39","slug":"abuja-trailer-crushes-three-to-death-on-madalla-zuba-road","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/06\/19\/abuja-trailer-crushes-three-to-death-on-madalla-zuba-road\/","title":{"rendered":"Abuja: Trailer Crushes Three to Death on Madalla-Zuba Road"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Patrick Idowu<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Traffic along the Abuja-Kaduna highway was halted for nearly two hours on Monday following a fatal accident near Madalla junction in Suleja LGA, Niger State, that left three people dead and three others injured.<\/p>\n<p>The accident occurred around 10 a.m. when a trailer reportedly lost control and rammed into a commercial tricycle, popularly known as Keke Napep.<\/p>\n<p>Eyewitnesses said the tricycle rider had briefly stepped away to exchange money when the incident occurred.<\/p>\n<p>He sustained injuries, while three of his passengers died on the spot.<\/p>\n<p>The trailer driver and his assistant fled the scene immediately after the crash.<\/p>\n<p>Efforts to remove the trailer initially failed until a crane eventually lifted it off the crushed tricycle, allowing the highway to reopen.<\/p>\n<p>Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), at the scene confirmed the incident and said an investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Patrick Idowu &nbsp; Traffic along the Abuja-Kaduna highway was halted for nearly two hours on Monday following a fatal accident near Madalla junction in Suleja LGA, Niger State, that left three people dead and three others injured.
