{"id":68509,"date":"2025-06-19T08:29:07","date_gmt":"2025-06-19T08:29:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=68509"},"modified":"2025-06-19T08:29:07","modified_gmt":"2025-06-19T08:29:07","slug":"security-forces-kill-12-bandits-in-katsina","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/06\/19\/security-forces-kill-12-bandits-in-katsina\/","title":{"rendered":"Security Forces Kill 12 Bandits in Katsina"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Onilede Titi Faith<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Nigerian security forces have killed 12 armed bandits during a joint operation in Katsina State on June 18, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The operation, involving the Army, Police, Community Watch Corps, and local vigilantes, followed an early morning attack on Rahamawa village in Charanchi LGA.<\/p>\n<p>The attackers injured a 60-year-old man, Alhaji Danmalam, and stole 22 cattle. He later died from his wounds.<\/p>\n<p>Security operatives tracked the bandits to Dutsen Falale, a known hideout between Kurfi and Safana LGAs, where a gunfight ensued.<\/p>\n<p>Twelve bandits were neutralised, and five AK-47 rifles, ammunition, and the stolen cattle were recovered.<\/p>\n<p>One vigilante was also killed, while a soldier is receiving treatment for injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Katsina State Commissioner for Internal Security, Dr. Nasir Mu\u2019azu, confirmed the operation and reiterated the government\u2019s commitment to ending insecurity in the region.<\/p>\n<p>The raid is part of wider efforts under Operations Fasan Yanma and Hadarin Daji to combat banditry in the North-West.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Onilede Titi Faith &nbsp; Nigerian security forces have killed 12 armed bandits during a joint operation in Katsina State on June 18, 2025.
