{"id":68397,"date":"2025-06-18T13:04:32","date_gmt":"2025-06-18T13:04:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=68397"},"modified":"2025-06-18T13:04:32","modified_gmt":"2025-06-18T13:04:32","slug":"nema-receives-147-voluntary-returnees-from-niger-republic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/06\/18\/nema-receives-147-voluntary-returnees-from-niger-republic\/","title":{"rendered":"NEMA Receives 147 Voluntary Returnees from Niger Republic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Anifowoshe Oladipupo<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), has received 147 Nigerians who voluntarily returned from Agadez, Niger Republic.<\/p>\n<p>The repatriation, which was facilitated by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), in collaboration with key stakeholders involved in migrant support and reintegration, was completed on Sunday, June 16, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>According to NEMA, the returnees arrived at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport at 12:48 p.m. and were immediately received by a joint team of government and humanitarian agencies.<\/p>\n<p>Out of the 147 returnees, 143 were adult males, while the rest included one male child, one adult female, and two female children.<\/p>\n<p>Following their arrival, the returnees were moved to Badala Hotel in Kano, where profiling and documentation were conducted on Monday, June 17.<\/p>\n<p>The agency also confirmed that one of the returnees was reported ill and received immediate medical attention from the Red Cross.<\/p>\n<p>NEMA reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the reintegration of returnees and ensuring their access to necessary welfare services.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Anifowoshe Oladipupo The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), has received 147 Nigerians who voluntarily returned from Agadez, Niger Republic.
