{"id":67843,"date":"2025-06-11T20:51:25","date_gmt":"2025-06-11T20:51:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=67843"},"modified":"2025-06-11T20:51:25","modified_gmt":"2025-06-11T20:51:25","slug":"benin-to-abuja-road-now-faster-smoother-okpebholo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/06\/11\/benin-to-abuja-road-now-faster-smoother-okpebholo\/","title":{"rendered":"Benin to Abuja Road Now Faster, Smoother -Okpebholo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Samuel Adeola<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has commended his administration\u2019s efforts in rehabilitating the Benin to Abuja highway, particularly the Iruekpen section, which he said has significantly improved travel time and road quality.<\/p>\n<p>According to the governor, the journey between Benin and Iruekpen now takes just 45 minutes, thanks to the intervention.<\/p>\n<p>He described the smoother and faster ride as evidence of his government\u2019s commitment to practical and impactful development.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking during an inspection of the road, Governor Okpebholo stated that the project is in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu\u2019s Renewed Hope Agenda, which Edo State has fully embraced.<\/p>\n<p>He reaffirmed his administration\u2019s dedication to delivering tangible projects that citizens can see, feel, and benefit from, adding that the upgraded road is one of the visible dividends of democracy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI came into office prepared to serve, and our focus remains the development and welfare of the good people of Edo State,\u201d Okpebholo said.<\/p>\n<p>Also speaking, a representative of the construction company, Engr.
