{"id":67334,"date":"2025-06-04T14:06:23","date_gmt":"2025-06-04T14:06:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=67334"},"modified":"2025-06-04T14:06:23","modified_gmt":"2025-06-04T14:06:23","slug":"babcock-university-expels-student-over-rituals-drug-peddling-impersonation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/06\/04\/babcock-university-expels-student-over-rituals-drug-peddling-impersonation\/","title":{"rendered":"Babcock University Expels Student Over Rituals, Drug Peddling, Impersonation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Huldah Shado<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, has expelled a student, Oladipupo Siwajuola, for gross misconduct, including involvement in fetish practices, drug peddling, impersonation, and dishonesty.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement signed by the university\u2019s Director of Marketing and Communication, Dr. Joshua Suleiman, the institution disclosed that Siwajuola deliberately exited the campus on April 28, 2025, without authorization.<\/p>\n<p>He reportedly disguised himself in a hoodie and sneaked out through the university\u2019s teaching hospital gate.<\/p>\n<p>The statement further revealed that Siwajuola was returned to campus by his father on May 15 and was subsequently invited by the Security Services Department for a formal debrief.<\/p>\n<p>During the session, he voluntarily submitted a written statement confessing to several infractions.<\/p>\n<p>According to his confession, Siwajuola admitted to purchasing a black soap for \u20a6100,000 from a traditional herbalist for ritual purposes, engaging in drug peddling, borrowing \u20a6500,000 from an online loan app to fund gambling, and impersonating another student to open a bank account.<\/p>\n<p>After thorough investigation, the university found Siwajuola culpable and dismissed him immediately, citing violations of institutional policies and its commitment to upholding global best practices in discipline.<\/p>\n<p>Babcock University also expressed concern over what it described as \u201csensational and baseless accusations\u201d made by Siwajuola\u2019s mother on social media, alleging the university\u2019s complicity in her son&#8217;s disappearance.<\/p>\n<p>However, the institution noted that it would not pursue legal action for libel, taking into account the cooperative and responsible approach demonstrated by the student&#8217;s father.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Huldah Shado Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, has expelled a student, Oladipupo Siwajuola, for gross misconduct, including involvement in fetish practices, drug peddling, impersonation, and dishonesty.
