Farauta, has applauded the Federal Government\u2019s clean energy and climate action initiative, describing it as timely and in alignment with the state\u2019s commitment to environmental sustainability and public health.<\/p>\n<p>She gave the commendation during the grand inauguration of the first-ever Liquefied Compressed Natural Gas (LCNG), facility in the North-East, held at the Greenville LNG Retail Station, Jimeta-Yola.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn Adamawa, we have seen the devastating effects of climate change.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That\u2019s why this LCNG project is not just a federal intervention; it\u2019s a lifeline. It aligns perfectly with our administration\u2019s goal of becoming a fresh air government where every citizen can breathe safe and clean air,\u201d Prof. Farauta said.<\/p>\n<p>The project, championed by Greenville LNG and commissioned by the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, PhD, was hosted by the Governor of Adamawa State, H.E. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, CON.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Farauta described the initiative as critical to reducing harmful emissions, improving public health, and securing the future for younger generations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is about saving lives and saving Nigeria. The emissions we inhale daily have serious health implications, and we are thankful this facility is addressing that challenge,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>She expressed gratitude to the Federal Government and urged for more interventions of this nature across the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlease extend our gratitude to President Tinubu. We need more of such transformative initiatives,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Reaffirming the state\u2019s commitment, the Deputy Governor assured that the Adamawa State Government would continue to collaborate closely with the Federal Government to ensure the success and sustainability of the LCNG project.<\/p>\n<p>The event drew key stakeholders from the energy sector, environmental advocates, government officials, and residents, all of whom lauded the facility as a game-changer in the region\u2019s journey toward a cleaner, healthier future.<\/p>\n<p>Present at the event were the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Rt. Hon.
