{"id":67184,"date":"2025-06-03T10:18:06","date_gmt":"2025-06-03T10:18:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=67184"},"modified":"2025-06-03T10:18:06","modified_gmt":"2025-06-03T10:18:06","slug":"okocha-urges-osimhen-to-stay-at-galatasaray","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/06\/03\/okocha-urges-osimhen-to-stay-at-galatasaray\/","title":{"rendered":"Okocha Urges Osimhen to Stay at Galatasaray"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Oluwamayowa Fakande<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Former Super Eagles captain, Austine Jay-Jay Okocha, has advised Victor Osimhen to consider making his stay at Galatasaray permanent following a successful loan spell at the Turkish giants.<\/p>\n<p>Osimhen, 26, joined Galatasaray on loan from Serie A side Napoli for the 2024\/25 season and played a key role in the club\u2019s domestic double triumph; winning both the Turkish Super Lig and the Turkish Cup.<\/p>\n<p>The prolific striker finished the season as the league\u2019s top scorer with 26 goals, attracting interest from several clubs across Europe.<\/p>\n<p>Galatasaray are also eager to sign him permanently.<\/p>\n<p>Okocha, who enjoyed a spell in Turkey with Fenerbah\u00e7e, believes the Nigerian forward should remain in Istanbul.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Turkey is a great place to play and live football,&#8221; Okocha said. &#8220;Sometimes, you have to make sacrifices when making football decisions.<\/p>\n<p>Osimhen had a great season at Galatasaray and he\u2019s clearly happy there. Why shouldn\u2019t he stay?
