{"id":67154,"date":"2025-06-02T16:26:47","date_gmt":"2025-06-02T16:26:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=67154"},"modified":"2025-06-02T16:26:47","modified_gmt":"2025-06-02T16:26:47","slug":"kogi-clears-n98-8bn-debt-in-15-months-commissioner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/06\/02\/kogi-clears-n98-8bn-debt-in-15-months-commissioner\/","title":{"rendered":"Kogi Clears N98.8bn Debt in 15 Months -Commissioner"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Anifowoshe Oladipupo<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Kogi State Government says it has cleared a total debt of N98.8 billion within 15 months of the current administration.<\/p>\n<p>The State Commissioner for Finance and Economic Planning, Ashiru Idris, made the disclosure on Monday during a press briefing after the State Executive Council meeting held at the Government House, Lokoja.<\/p>\n<p>He said the cleared debts include liabilities inherited from previous administrations, including the N50 billion salary bailout granted to former Governor Idris Wada.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo far, this administration under the leadership of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has cleared a total of N98.8 billion inherited from past governments, including the N50 billion salary bailout given to Captain Idris Wada\u2019s administration,\u201d Idris stated.<\/p>\n<p>He attributed the achievement to a significant boost in internally generated revenue (IGR), crediting the Kogi State Internal Revenue Service for its enhanced performance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis success was made possible through the proactive efforts of the Chief Servant of our state, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, who empowered the Kogi State Internal Revenue Service to increase the state\u2019s revenue generation,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Anifowoshe Oladipupo &nbsp; The Kogi State Government says it has cleared a total debt of N98.8 billion within 15 months of the current administration.
