{"id":67145,"date":"2025-06-02T14:17:03","date_gmt":"2025-06-02T14:17:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=67145"},"modified":"2025-06-02T14:17:03","modified_gmt":"2025-06-02T14:17:03","slug":"fg-embarks-on-digital-transformation-of-healthcare-system","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/06\/02\/fg-embarks-on-digital-transformation-of-healthcare-system\/","title":{"rendered":"FG Embarks on Digital Transformation of Healthcare System"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Njoku Chijioke<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Federal Government has commenced a comprehensive digital transformation of Nigeria&#8217;s healthcare system under the Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at unifying the country\u2019s digital health ecosystem and improving service delivery.<\/p>\n<p>Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Tunji Alausa, said the Nigeria Digital Health Initiative (NDHI), launched in March 2024 will place data and technology at the heart of healthcare reform.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the initiative will enable real-time tracking of disease outbreaks, streamline healthcare financing, improve immunization coverage, and empower innovators to develop health apps that enhance care and generate employment.<\/p>\n<p>The NDHI is built on three foundational pillars designed to power a new national health data infrastructure. This framework will support clinical decision-making, public health surveillance, efficient resource allocation, and start-up innovation in the health sector.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister urged state health commissioners and digital health focal persons to commit to concrete actions and clear timelines, stressing the need for coordination across all levels of government.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that the initiative represents a shift from fragmented pilot projects to a coordinated, system-wide transformation-endorsed by the National Council on Health in November 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The digital health transformation is expected to enhance healthcare delivery, improve patient outcomes, and boost employment.<\/p>\n<p>The private sector, a key player in healthcare delivery, will be integrated into national reporting structures to ensure a more inclusive and comprehensive health management system.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Njoku Chijioke &nbsp; The Federal Government has commenced a comprehensive digital transformation of Nigeria&#8217;s healthcare system under the Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at unifying the country\u2019s digital health ecosystem and improving service delivery.
