{"id":66995,"date":"2025-05-31T12:49:56","date_gmt":"2025-05-31T12:49:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=66995"},"modified":"2025-05-31T12:49:56","modified_gmt":"2025-05-31T12:49:56","slug":"zulum-offers-scholarships-to-children-of-cjtf-members-killed-in-ied-blast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/05\/31\/zulum-offers-scholarships-to-children-of-cjtf-members-killed-in-ied-blast\/","title":{"rendered":"Zulum Offers Scholarships to Children of CJTF Members Killed in IED Blast"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Anifowoshe Oladipupo<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum, has pledged full scholarships for the children of eight Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) members who lost their lives in an improvised explosive device (IED) attack along the Dikwa\u2013Marte Road.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Zulum made the announcement on Thursday during a condolence visit to the families of the fallen heroes in the Fezzan ward of Maiduguri.<\/p>\n<p>The CJTF members were killed on Tuesday when their vehicle hit an IED planted by insurgents. Describing them as martyrs who made the ultimate sacrifice in defence of their communities, Zulum assured their families that their bravery would never be forgotten.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the scholarship pledge, the governor announced immediate financial support of \u20a65 million for each bereaved family to help cater to their urgent needs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to announce an initial assistance of \u20a65 million to each family to take care of their immediate needs. The Borno State Government will also provide full scholarship to the children of the deceased CJTF members.
