{"id":66745,"date":"2025-05-27T17:46:57","date_gmt":"2025-05-27T17:46:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=66745"},"modified":"2025-05-27T17:46:57","modified_gmt":"2025-05-27T17:46:57","slug":"again-one-dies-two-injures-on-nyanya-bridge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/05\/27\/again-one-dies-two-injures-on-nyanya-bridge\/","title":{"rendered":"Again, One Dies, Two Injures on Nyanya Bridge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Adenike Lawal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nyanya Bridge has witnessed yet another tragedy as a delivery truck lost control on Tuesday evening, killing one person and severely injuring two others from the same family.<\/p>\n<p>The victims were reportedly standing by the roadside around 6:30 p.m. when a Coca-Cola truck suffered brake failure, veered off course, and smashed into several vehicles before slamming into a parked construction truck.<\/p>\n<p>While the truck drivers walked away unscathed, a female customs officer narrowly escaped death when her car was crushed in the chain collision.<\/p>\n<p>Emergency responders from the Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Department, the Federal Road Safety Corps, and the FCT Police Command quickly arrived at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>The two survivors were rushed to the National Hospital where they are now receiving treatment and said to be responding well.<\/p>\n<p>The lifeless body of the deceased was handed over to his heartbroken family by a joint rescue team of FEMD and the police.<\/p>\n<p>Reacting to the accident, the Acting Director General of FEMD, Engr. Abdulrahman Mohammed, expressed deep concern and called on drivers to maintain heightened vigilance on the roads.<\/p>\n<p>He underscored the importance of regular vehicle maintenance to prevent similar tragedies in the future.<\/p>\n<p>Engr.
