Over 4,000 young women from low-income households across Delta State have been trained and empowered in just six months through a government-led initiative.<\/p>\n
The State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services and Girl-Child Development, Orode Uduaghan, revealed this during a briefing, stating that the training was executed in partnership with the Enterprise Development Centre and MasterCard Foundation.<\/p>\n
She disclosed that 1,500 participants who completed the Enterprise Development Centre\u2019s goal-plan-test programme received N150,000 each as business support from the Delta State Government.<\/p>\n
\u201cThose who didn’t pass the test still benefited from other incentives like free website and logo design,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
According to the commissioner, the EDC continues to work with the entrepreneurs through mentorship, business registration assistance, product exhibitions, and market linkage support.<\/p>\n
The empowerment programme, she said, showcases the Oborevwori administration\u2019s commitment to uplifting the vulnerable, describing the project as a landmark stride in Delta\u2019s drive for inclusive economic growth.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
