{"id":66332,"date":"2025-05-22T14:31:27","date_gmt":"2025-05-22T14:31:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=66332"},"modified":"2025-05-22T14:31:27","modified_gmt":"2025-05-22T14:31:27","slug":"alalade-fires-kwara-united-into-historic-final","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/05\/22\/alalade-fires-kwara-united-into-historic-final\/","title":{"rendered":"Alalade Fires Kwara United into Historic Final"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Oluwamayowa Fakande<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wasiu Alalade wrote his name into Kwara United\u2019s history books on Wednesday with the goal that propelled the Harmony Boys into their first-ever President Federation Cup final in 49 years.<\/p>\n<p>The 25-year-old forward struck in the 50th minute to seal a 1- 0 victory over Rangers International at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos, sparking jubilation among fans and teammates.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFirst, I will say I\u2019m excited and very happy that we won and will now play in the final for the first time,\u201d said Alalade, who has scored 11 goals and provided two assists across all competitions this season.<\/p>\n<p>A former invitee to Nigeria\u2019s U23 Olympic Eagles, Alalade overcame a career-threatening knee concern that once took him to Argentina for specialist care. Now fully fit, he is basking in glory and gratitude.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m also happy because I played a role in this journey to the final by being the one that God used to give us this victory, by making me the one who scored the goal.
