The alleged assault led to the elder Lamidi\u2019s death.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecuting officer, ASP Musbau Lawal, said the offence violates Section 319 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000, which prescribes the death penalty for murder.<\/p>\n<p>Presiding Magistrate, Mr Olaolu Olanipekun, declined to take Lamidi\u2019s plea, citing lack of jurisdiction.<\/p>\n<p>He ordered the police to forward the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution for legal guidance and adjourned the matter to July 10 for mention.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Patrick Idowu A 27-year-old man, Musa Lamidi, has been ordered into prison custody by the Iyaganku Magistrates\u2019 Court in Ibadan for allegedly murdering his father, Rufai Lamidi.
