Nollywood star Mercy Johnson-Okojie has broken her silence, revealing the emotional and medical journey that led to her recent weight loss\u2014news that has shocked many and silenced swirling speculations online.<\/p>\n
Discussing with Veteran actress Joke Silva, Mercy shared for the first time that she faced a terrifying cancer scare that led to thyroid surgery.<\/p>\n
She underwent a thyroidectomy\u2014the complete removal of the thyroid gland\u2014shortly after welcoming her last child, who was just six months old at the time.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was a tough journey,\u201d she admitted. \u201cMy husband and I had to accept this new reality and find a way to move forward.\u201d<\/p>\n
Following the surgery, Mercy was placed on lifelong medication, a routine she cannot afford to skip.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe doctors made it clear. This is for life. We had to understand and accept the side effects, the changes, the new normal. It was overwhelming,\u201d she confessed.<\/p>\n
