In line with this commitment, he announced plans to engage stakeholders in amending the Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities (Prohibition) Act, 2018. Highlighting specific initiatives, Mr. Isa stated, “I will immediately engage the various authorities responsible for Federal Government palliative initiatives to include PWDs, particularly to ensure the setting aside of a quota for them.” This proactive step aims to integrate persons with disabilities into federal palliative initiatives, acknowledging their unique needs.<\/p>\n
Additionally, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Disability Matters expressed intentions to collaborate with the Ministry of Transport. The goal is to formulate policies on transportation that cater to the specific requirements of PWDs, ensuring accessibility and convenience.
